what is the ideal lofted plow height?

    weatern conventional plow.
    meyer under carriage for who knows what truck.
    lights some guy on the street sold me for 5 bucks.

    The ideal height will depend on the plow design and how bad the cutting edge is worn down. The critical thing is not height anyway, its having the a-frame square to the ground. On Western straight blades there is only one way to change the a-frame elevation and that is with the four (or three depending on the plow) configuration holes in the configuration plates. On V plows there is a second adjustment at the back end of the a-frame. Installation instructions say that the vehicle should have proper ballast installed before adjusting anything.

    brand new edge. a frame is pretty level. but i notice mine doesent go up as much as others.
    partly because i lose an inch or so on the truck suspension when its up.
