You won't....The only thing that serial number will tell anyone is where Fisher initially shipped it to be sold. Pretty crappy system huh. Anyway, Throw up a pic and we can tell you what it is.

What truck are you putting this on? Year, Make, Model, Engine size???

    BTW, welcome aboard Kevin!

It was to my understanding that if you called Fisher and gave them the serial that they could give you year model size and so on. But Repoman207 said that you can only get where it was shipped.... And he's pretty smart about Fishers.

    Thanks for the props SS.

Depending on who you get on the phone (most of them won't even look for you), you might be able to get a year span...but nothing to specific (2-4 year span). I think there record keeping has gotten better at the Maine plant since there move and computer upgrades 4 years ago....atleast there bill of ladings got better.

Kevin, you can narrow it down a bit.

    1. Is it a V blade or a straight blade?
    2. measure the blades length & height, whats the measurements?
    3. does the A arm look like 1) or 2) ?

i bought a minute mount plow for $500 today
the owner died 3 years ago and his widow sold the truck but he had left the plow at a welding shop and never picked it up
    so i bought it
so i need all the truck wiring
i see all types of harnesses on ebay etc
    what will fit???
what parts are universal to all fisher plows??
    whats a new harness cost???

Did it have headgear on it or just the push plates....does the front of your truck look like this...

    asas.jpg

.....and the plow you bought, does it look like this, or is there no headgear to it?

I think you need to recount the pins on the plow that go to the "control" It's either going to be a 9 pin or a 3 pin. If there is in fact 3 separate plugs that plug into the truck (1 to the side of the pump with 2 pins, 1 to the headlights 11 pins, & 1 to the pump with 3 pins.) you need....

If for some reason you have a different plug or pin count let us know.

Back to your original question...you have a 8' HD Minute Mount 1 with a L series blade. Made between 96-99

    Yup.

BTW I talked to a fisher dealer yesterday and asked him about the serial number thing, there is a second number on the headgear or A frame depending on year and model that WILL get you specific information. They use the A frame ID for tracking origin only. Kinda messed up if you ask me.

If only they could all just be the same. 3 sizes. 8' 9' 10' and then there was 1 vee blade, 9'6''

    No kidding.

There is no hope if one gets stolen anyway. Unless your like the "doctor" and have your name and number painted on the front of the plow. I'm all set on that.
