My pick up I believe has 3.73 That works good for plowing. In my F450 I think it has 4.11 or 4.30 maybe. That is geared almost to low I think, but I guess its for extra towing. I think 3.73 are very good.

    what engine in that F350?

    If it v8 5.4L I suggest 4.10

    V10 6.8L will be ok with 3.73

'99-'07 F350 Diesel SRW the only available gears were 3.73. The option was a Limited-Slip in the rear.

'99-'07 F350 Diesel DRW will have 3.73 open rear diff, with 4.10LS and 4.30LS being optional.

up to '97 will have 3.55 or 4.10

'08.5 and up could have 3.55 standard with 3.73 and 4.10 optional I think.

3:73 would be your best bet-JMO I have 4:10's in my 5.4 and 3:55's in my 7.3. Both push well.

he also has a 08 350 diesel with 35 on 20 inch rims and it tow and plows great with 3:73
and my 05 diesel has 3:73 and i would not change a thing

One thing you have to conisder when it comes to gearing. Are you going to put on bigger tires?. My truck has the 4.10's but with the bigger tires my ratio has dropped to 3.90. So if you go from the stock tires to a set of 33's with 3.73 you ratio will come in around 3.50 or so

Whoa, an intelligent discussion on gear ratios, I'm impressed.
