It is for sure a 5.2. Havent seen it in person yet. What transmission would be in it?

The 5.2 wasn't available in the 2500 just the 5.9 or the V10 gassers.

If my memory serves me correct the 5.2 liter v8 was available up to 1997 in light duty 3/4 tons (AKA heavy half tons badged as 2500s)...Not 100% sure...Rather rare but I have seen them before...

I have a brochure from 1997 and lists the 5.2 not being available in the 3/4 ton.

Are you using it just as a plow truck? Doesn't seem like a bad price and it looks pretty good. I would also be thinking about it...

If I'm not mistaken, it would have the 46re transmission in it.

i found one last year exactly like that.....they wanted 5k for it with a meyers plow and mount and it did have the 5.2 so im guessing its the under 8600 pound 3/4 ton, just like the chevys, in my 1991 style k2500 they have the heavy duty 3/4 ton which is 8600 with the 8 lug tires and then they have the 7200 pound 2500 with the 5 lugs and the 305 motor i found out there by buying the c-v joints, my light duty has the same cv joints as a 1500, i origionally bought the true 3/4 ton ones and they were wayyyyy too big.

i think from that pic it sits a little high to be a 1500....looks like a 2/3 ton to me haha

This is true. Dodge made 2 3/4 ton trucks. Under and over on the gvw. The 5.2 was in the under, ie the heavy half. Still a nice truck, and plenty of power to plow. Not a bad price. i would be thinking pretty hard on that,
