During our last storm we had this unit freeze-up so I had to drain and remove the reservoir from the unit. The O ring was good but I replaced it with a new one. When I went to remove the reservoir in the beginning it was a ***** to get off, like it was either painted on or glued on. Anyway after replacing it I can't get it not to leak hydraulic fluid when working. Does anyone know if they use a special sealant, Was thinking on using a little rv silicone. Any suggestions ?

    Thanks KIndly

Shouldn't need silicone to get it to seal. If the O-ring is good and not rolled or out of place, and the reservoir isn't out of shape you shouldn't need any sealer. Check the reservoir around the top to make sure it's not out of shape and double check the O-ring.

And yes some of them can be a real bear to remove, especially the first time.

    Paint + a little corrosion = Stuck
