I called my local western dealer today for early season pricing on a 8 ft pro plow with the ultramount to go on my 98 chevy 2500.
he said that there had been a lot of complaints about how low the mount hung down on the stock truck and that I should consider a lift kit or timbrens at the very least or even better to try a meyers or a boss plow for better clearence... very strange has anybody ever heard of this what should I do modify the truck or go looking at other plows?????????

I've heard that on the new CHevy HD's
You could go with the uni-mount it's also 100 cheaper
    and there plenty of clearence
but the ultra mount is very nice to hook up
    Works fine on the Ford
