Western cable control wont go down...all of a sudden

Discussion in 'Truck & Equipment Repair' started by mr_udy, Feb 26, 2006.

  1. Nearly finished plowing this morning...and all of a sudden, the plow would no drop. The up position and side/side still work (can here pump come on in all positions). I read some previous threads on this subject...but all didnt sound as if it were a "sudden" issue like mine. I am suspecting I lost a up/down cable since everything apears to work except down. Any ideas before I tear into it (its cold out!)? Thanks

I agree on control cable. Easy enough to check, pull the rectangular plate off the pump and take a look.

  3. yup...lift cable broke at fitting inside cover of pump housing. All fixed.
