Welding old cutting edge to new blade...

  1. I ahte to waste any metal and was thinking of welding the old blade to the bottom section of the new blade....

    any issues...they say it is hardened but Im only getting a year out of a blade so I going to try it next blade..

    It can be done you need a stick welder and you want to warm both pieces If you overlay it make you edge thicker will slow down your wear

    I make my own edges over half what a OEM cost I think they wear better then OEM

    we bolt pieces of carbide cutting edge that we get from cat to the front of new edges they last for years dont have a good pic but you can see in this one if you look close
