I used to plow my driveway and a few neighbors with my
7 1/2 ft Western plow on a 79 Chevy truck. Tranny went
out on the truck last spring during my last plowing run of the
season. I own a 88 f150, and was wondering if anyone has a
used mount that would work so I could get by without
spending a lot of money. I spoke with a junk yard owner
down the road and he said he could weld me one for around
    $350.

Would also like to know from any experts if plowing with a f150
    might be a bad idea??

I have a mount off of a 90 Ford 150. Had a 7 1/2 ft unimount on it with no problem. $200 + shipping, it is in good condition. James Hodges 317-435-4954. On Ebay I am "ps496"

Not sure if my mount is really a unimount....

I just spoke to a Western distributor and he explained to me that I was looking for a 'conventional' mount, not a unimount. I thought ultra was
where the pump stayed with the plow and uni was the other type. Apparently that is not true. Is your mount considered a conventional? My old setup was where two pins held the plow A frame to the mount on the truck and a chain connected to the pump.
