Now we know why it is so hard for them to move all of this snow, just look at the first truck in this video...I think it might be time for some new trip springs!

I like the tiny standard duty Meyers on a 3/4 ton there. I wonder how plowing 20+ inches of snow with a short plow is going.

How many inches of snow does DC see a year? Some of those operators didnt quite look like they knew what they were doing.

Works good for him since hes cruising around with it raised anyway! Seriouosly though, I wonder if the guy in the first truck said the hell with it, im gonna run the plow like this, or if hes on his way back to the shop...obviously he has to know somethings not right no matter how much experience he has (or lack of given his area). Just kinda funny how that made the news clip

Good call! lol. My old POS Meyers did that even when it had new springs. Thats what happens when you get a lot of wet hard packed snow and try to scrap it up. Ive seen other big municipal type plows fold over very easily.

I agree... I was hoping some of that storm would spread some love to northern NJ and give me something to plow. I was in the 4-6 in range all night and got 0...not even a flake:mad:

So two more things I noticed... look at the plow on the orange GMC... that also looks like a pretty light duty plow for that truck. Isnt that a Kodiak or 6500? Also if you look, in the video, they never plow any of the intersections. Always blades up until they get through the intersections. Maybe that's how they plan to keep people off of the roads. :waving:

That's common. If they are State roads, town roads or county roads they pickup the plows until they are on their own roads.

I think the DC area averages like 15" or so a year, so be nice...they just got double their annual snowfall in one day.

i see public works plows laid down like that all the time here. i think some of them just have one huge trip spring.
