V Plow or Snow Push ?

Discussion in 'Commercial Snow Removal' started by RWK in WI, Jan 30, 2005.

  1. To help a friend, I am looking for some opinions if a V Plow attachment or a Snow Push box attachment for a skid steer would work best. Either will be New Holland brand on a New Holland skid steer. There is no option to get anything else so don't say get a Blizzard. At present they are using a straight blade and it has too much trail off by time they get to the pile. This area gets about 100" of snow a year so stacking is important. There is no way to use a blower because of buildings.
It will be used to clear areas from 50 X 100 to 100 X 400. In most cases the snow must all be stacked at one end with no drift or banks along the sides.
We would like ideas from the pros.

If you are only going to use the V blade in the scoop position then I would buy the push box. It will hold more snow and is very durable. It might take a couple of nights to get used to but after that they are great.
