Just picked up a v-box salter that has been sitting awhile. I need to free it up quick. I know I need to replace the chain, but whats the best way to free up the conveyor chain and get it going? Lots of PB blaster?? Any help would be great, I don't what to put a new conveyor chain on it.
    Thanks

if it is froze up that bad you might have to replace the drag chain anyway

Use Fluid Film. Mine was all rusted to the sprocket. Soaked it good with FF and next day the chain was free and every link would move.

I got the chain moving, but the motor won't turn the gearbox. Either the gearbox is locked up, the clutch is junk or the bearings are seized up on the shaft. Anybody have any help for me???

Dang it! How did I miss this one. Just PM me if you've never tried Fluid Film and live in the US. I'll get a sample can right out.

Spray the hell out of everything and let it sit overnight. FF can be found at most John Deere dealers.
Best money you will ever spend.
Drain the gear box and fiil it with new grease and the grease ALL the bearings. A quick smack with a big hammer will losen things up too.

I think you have to have 10 posts before you can PM.
