Upstate New York snow plowing.

Hey everyone. Nope, no snow here yet in Connecticut. But I shouldnt be surprised. Snow here is so inconsistant.
Anyways, as per usual, I've been noticing already all the snow that upstate New Yorkers have been getting and apparently will be getting all week. Damn. It must be an absolute snow plowers paradise. I've been actually thinking of moving to an area somewhere right near the Syracuse area, or more near the lake and hopefully finding my "nook" there, as far as snow plowing goes.
Are there any plowers out there that would have input on snow plowing up in those great lake regions where there is so much snow? Is it overrated? Way too many low ballers? Does the whole supply and demand thing kind of even things out as far as pricing goes?
If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.

In the mean time, for those of us still waiting for snow, what has everyone been doing? Me personally, a little too much of this...
Anyways, hope all is well for everyone out there.
Thanks for your input in advance.

Craig.............I live up north of Syracuse. Sure we get the "tug hill terror" blasts and the lake effect from lake Ontario. But everybody and their sister has a plow rig around here so its lowball heaven.....................

Over 230 inches in Oswego county alone last year......................geo

Same here in buffalo. If you watch the weather channel today there here covering the LAke effect. Sidel loves this place. But everytime he comes here it's a mess we get hammerd with snow. He's about 20 min away from me and it's snowing like crazy, where I am I can see Grass. That's Lake effect

Agree with Sonjabb 100% on this on, everyone here has a plow or some way to be self sufficient in snow removal, lowballers abound. Yes we get an unbelievable amount of snow but its not all its cracked up to be, even us plowers get sick of 6 months of snow some years.

    what a joke....

HI. My name is Kevin. I live about 35 minutes from syracuse, and about 45 minutes from the tug hill plateau....The snow definitely adds up, when it comes. As far as low ballers, they are everywhere. I can say it would be a great move to here, but i don't know what it's really like where you are. All I can say is give it a try. You can do very well, but you'll need to get established here, and hope your customers are loyal. I have guys in my area who do residential drives for 300- 350 a season. And thats just ridiculous. I guess you have that anywhere. It' s a nice place, and the work is there, but you have to go get it. They lowballers heavily out weigh the money makers. Good Luck.

Son, we got a couple inches up here yesterday, nothing much to speak of, they got more down near Sandy Creek , lake effect clouds were pretty dark just to our south, been a pretty disappointing winter so far, but there is lots left to go and the lake is warm still for December :)
