I have a unimount on a Chevy 2500hd. The solenoid for some reason keeps melting, and the power bolt along with the cable will just pop out of the solenoid and the plow of course no longer works. Has anyone encountered this problem before. I was told that the plow motor is drawing to much amps and thats why it melts the solenoid. Just want to be sure before I buy a new motor. Thanks 4 ur help guys!

I believe the amps should be between 150-175 amps.

Make sure the pump is grounded. Matter of fact check all your grounds. I added grounds from the engine to the truck frame..

How is your charging system doing? Did you in the past change the alternator?
