Bought a used western unimount for my 98 Dodge Ram. Started to install it tonight. I have all the wiring in and the mount mostly on. I decided to try the switch out to see what would happen even though the plow itself is not mounted on the truck yet. When using the controller in the up, left and right position I can hear the solenoid click, but in the lower position it does not click. Is this normal? Do I need to install the plow for some reason before the solenoid will click? I was just curious before I went any further.

The motor doesn't run when you lower so the solenoid won't activate.
