I blew out both shock stabilizers on my 2000 F-250 last winter and since I installed the shocks I've downsized my tire size, so I decided to only replace one shock instead of both. I didn't like the apperance of the unit so I put a piece of diamond plate on the front of it, here's what it turned out like.
