trip springs

    I have a few years old western uni-mount 8.6 , how tight should the trip springs be ??????

    You should be able to slip a sheet of paper between the second and third coils at the top of the spring.

    Zamboni is correct..

    Make sure both nuts (top and bottom) are loose(might have to use a little heat), as your tightening the top nut down, using a piece of paper (printer paper) when you can slip between the second and third curl, tighten up the bottom nut......
