Since salt tends to turn gravel drives all sloppy, is there a liquid option that I could use to melt ice on my gravel driveway that won't turn the surface all sloppy? Or maybe something else? Maybe that stuff called Heat? I just want to be able to melt the ice without turning the drive into a mucky mess.

Sand is your best option. Using liquid on a gravel drive is asking for a skating ring or if you use enough liquid a sloppy mess.

Just use more gravel, or crusher dust/stone chips.

Another good idea, that I seem to forget about.
