Transmission question

    On the 77 1/2 ton 4x4's, are the transmission just a standard T-350 (or 400) with the tailshaft removed and the transfer case bolted directly to the transmission?

    Most 77 1/2 tons were all TH350's.

    If you have a kickdown cable it's a 350.If it has an electric switch above the gas pedal for kickdown,it's a 400.

    The extension housing is removed an an adapter is used to mount the case.There are many different output shafts and adapter configurations.
