I just bought a parts truck, and it has a stick I haven't seen in full size chevy's before. It's a four speed, and 1st gear isn't a granny. Reverse is up and left past 1st and 2nd, and the other four gears are in the standard H patern. This is my first full size stick shift, so it may be a common tranny, but I haven't seen it. The truck is a 1982 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive with the 6.2 diesel. Also, if anyone knows what kind of tranny it is, what kind of reputation does it have? It's a little loose, but after tightening the linkage it shifts just fine. Thanks.

It is a 3 sp with overdrive. I had one in an 82 2wd myself. It is not very stout, but should be fine with normal driving. I dont know the model # but it is a side linkage shifter as opposed to the top loader with low gear.
Dino
----------
Professional Ice and Snow Management
Products:Services:Equipment www.sima.org
