I have a 1989 Chevy 2500 4x4 and a couple of days ago when I was out plowing the truck started to wait a little bit longer to shift from first to second and it would jerk it when it shifted. We checked the fluid, it was low so we filled it up. After we filled it it fixed the problem for about a day but now it is still doing it. It just is taking too long for it to shift from first to second.

Any ideas on what the problem could be.

Have the fluid and filter changed and see if there's a difference.

I brought it by the Chevy garage and it ended up being a sticky valve between first and second. They said that it needed a new valve box for a total of $585. ouch:cry:
