torque converter

    hi all,
    i need to rebuild my t400 behind a 454.
    is a converter from a diesel a better choice ??

    Buy what they call a anti ballooning converter, will cost you a few more bucks, but it will not swell when it gets hot.... They can swell so bad that it forces the crank forward and breaks the thrust bearing on in the block and allow the crank to walk back and forth.

    If you look at a normal converter and one of these you can see it has a solid piece of steel welded at the bottom of the snout and just not the stamped steel shell of a normal converter.
