Tires- Best wear and Snow- 18"

Discussion in 'Commercial Snow Removal' started by Pa Teeny, Oct 27, 2015.

  1. I am in the market for new tires and I am tired of only getting 1 1/2 year of wear from my tires. I used to get a recapped tire that lasted for 3 years...they hummed in the summer but I was happy to save money and the dug in the winter.

Looking at Hankook DynaPro MT Tire 35X12.50R18 /10 $339.00 walmart.

I have had no tire that I am happy with the wear as they dont last. They stopped making the recaps as were getting sued or something.

    Just putting it out there....
    Thanks

I just moved up from the stock 245/75R17 BFG Rugged Trails to 285/70R17 BFG KO2's. Hoping it's a vast improvement. I would be worried getting much wider than a 285/295.

These 1 week ago, second pair, and if I spent $340 per tire I would be sleeping in my truck...

You need to get 2 sets of tires. Running that size tire when your plowing is a lot of extra work. You want to use skinny tires in the snow.

When I plow traction is not something I am willing to compromise on.
I have 2 sets of tires I get 3 to 4 years out of my plow tires. and 4 to 7 years out of my off road tires.
