    How's that compare to scraping with a steel cutting edge?

    Nothing beats steal but it will clean the first snow better then steel as it works like a squeegee and will take all the snow off down to the asphalt.
    It works very well with a wet snow also.

    tire plow

    One other thing about the tire plow.
    You will pretty much never need a cutting edge as compared to running a steel blade.
    Probably 95 % of the time you move snow you ill not need to be cutting ice if you do the job the right way the first time
