Pick up my new 1 ton dump next week. I know the 2011's have a beefier front end, and I going to be hanging a 8.5 or 9.5 V off of it. How do the new front ends handle a large plow? Do I need timbrens or will a few turns on the t-bars be enough???

Is it a 6.0 Vortec or Duramax? We had a 2011 (was a 2500hd) with an 8 foot western at work and the front end dropped a fair amount less with the blade up than the 2010 we had before (both were stock). With a 1 ton, you have the 5600lbs front axle rating with the Vortec and 6000lbs if its a Duramax. If anything, a couple of turns might just be the trick. Part of the new front end is double jounce bumpers, so if you opted to do timbrens, it wouldn't budge a bit I would think.

I've got an 8.5' Western MVP on my 2011 2500HD Duramax with the 6k lb. front axle. I cranked the bars a few turns and installed the Timbrens... It's rock solid. The Timbrens take out the bounce going down the road... over bumps, railroad tracks, etc. I install them on every plow truck.

Its got the 6.0. Traded in my 07 2500 dmax. I only tow 3k most of the time, so I opted for the gasser. Ill most likely get the timbrens, but ill try a few twists on the t-bars first.

I just had my plow put on yesterday, with the plow raised the front drops maybe 1'' max. I am surprised how much stronger the front ends are on the newer trucks.

Got a great deal on a Meyers 8.0 Lot Pro steel with the EZ mount from Equipment Specialist. I can't wait to try it out...looks considerably more heavy duty than the old Meyers plows.Thumbs Up

Had a Hiniker on the old rig, so thinkin of going that route again. A 8.5 ploy V will run me $5200 installed....

Cranking the T-bars and adding Timbrens do two different things.

I see no reason for Timbrens . Unless you just want them.
