Talking Shoes

    Can't seem to find it. Are the shoes on boss plows hardend steel?? Yes I know 99% of yous don't use them. I will be using them untill the gravel in some yards is hardpacked with snow.

    Have no clue, but if you need extras, I have 2 almost new ones you can have free.
    I was going to throw them in the dumpster.

    They are cast iron according to Boss.

    Mine are older RTII's, so I can't speak about the newer models... but the outer shoes on mine are steel (plain I think because I have bent them) and the center one is cast iron.

    Thanks for the info, I will have to take a better look since they have both. I would imagine the steel ones are hardend steel though.

    Last I knew Boss uses a cast shoe on a steel pin. There is now only one shoe offered and it is used in all 3 positions on Power V. I use mine on power V to protect center hinge etc. I straight blades I usually run no shoes even on gravel. Till the gravel is frozen solid th shoes don't float and once its frozen it's like blacktop.
