    Hello,

How many of you guys put your tailgate spreader on in fall and leave it on until spring. If so when do you put it on????? The other question is do some of you people take off the spreader after each storm??? Thanks for the info!!!!

I take it off after each storm, for the most part. If I see a second storm coming I will leave it on.

I wash & take mine off after each storm, unless the forecast is calling for precipitation in the next 24 hours or so. I am always afraid that I will or someone else will back into something. I have a Western 1000 with a receiver mount. It is just 1 pin, 2 ratchet straps, & a plug in connection. It only takes a couple of minutes to hook or unhook it. :waving:

    Hey boast,

Do you know what the weight of the spreader is empty. I went to the website and could not find it. I am in the process of trying to pick out a spreader. Thanks in advance.

    Young Pup -

Approximately 154 pounds including the mount for the 1000 series.

That sounds about right. I can take it off by myself but putting it on is another story! I really like the spreader. pumpkin: :nono:
