swapping diffrentials

    i recently bougt a 77 gmc k15. everyone says to swithc the rear and front axles cause it has a gm 12 bolt in rear. if im right all i need to do is find a 3/4 ton set of axles and install them? or is their more involved? can someone please help me out here with some info. thanks

    What are you going to use the truck for? A 12 bolt isn't bad. Only reason you would need more axle under the truck is for bigger tires, horsepower, and plans to abuse it.

    it has a 350 with a manual tranny, it also has 35x12.50-15's under it. if i keep the 12 bolt should i change the ring and pinion gears in it?
