suitable replacement for brake hose clips?

    What do you think? Do you see any problems with using this type of a standoff to replace the clips holding brake hose and RWAL line together? Rather than search for a different sized clip (hoses are diff dia.), I borrowed this idea from dirt bike applications. Brake hose in first photo is being replaced with SS used in the mock up in the other photo.

    The extra piece of rubber hose does add a nice touch...but if you need to do a bunch of them or don't want to take the time to cut several pieces of hose you can simply keep them separated with an extra wire tie. Much faster and just as good. I use this method on plug wires mostly as its an old racers method.
