I met with my insurance company today and got on the subject of subcontractors. She stated I should have my subs place me as additional insured on their policy. Anyone do this?

I don't have any subs this year, but if/when I do, you had better believe that they will have me as a named insured on their policy. This way if they mess up and we both get sued, HIS/HER insurance policy will take the hit up to the max amount of their policy for any judgement against me, and then only the leftover amount would hit mine.
