I have a couple Steiners that are great machines for doing smaller areas and side walks. But they seem to have a habit of breaking down.

Does anyone else run them ??

Do you have problems with them much ? Mine are 12 years old...may just be the year ??

    Thanks and happy plowing

How's that chain lift spreader working for ya?

That must make you really worn out, you're way older than 12.

This thread is interesting... Because I just got off the phone with another contractor that was complaining about his Steiner's breaking a lot this year. Nothing major, just a lot of annoyances early in his routes but enough that they have to stop using it. He said the have always been reliable until this year. He said his have about 900 hours on them.

Other than that, I do not and have not owned any.

Just got one this year from a company we bought out, he bought it new 10 years ago and we have been using it all this year. Mostly wear item that have broken, he said a few hydraulic lines as well but nothing out of the ordinary for equipment being pushed to its max in heavy snow. It has just over 1100 hrs on it and we spent approx 20hrs this season going over the entire machine top to bottom and got everything tightened up, there was a few rounded out bolts and welding needed on stress points but for a 10yr + machine its in great shape.
