There may be a thread on this already, I searched and nothing turned up but is there a true advantage to having the stainless MVP 3 over a red powder coated one. I'm somewhat new to this.

    Thanks in advance

Stainless won't rust and won't scratch.
    All personal preference

Only the moldboard is SS and you still have the same rusting/upkeep issues with the rest of the plow, so what's point.
The only positive is you can replace the moldboard skin easily.

I think powder coating is a scam. Everyone says it's all in the prep of the steel. Anytime they want to perfect their prep, I'm fine with it. Because I have yet to see powdercoat last.

Won't scratch? Then why is there hundreds of products for removing scratches from SS?

Because there's a moron born every minute......
300 series SS is softer and more pliable (easy to form) than 400 and mulch cheaper too.

When I was a teen I helped with dads cleaning business, we had cleaners and microfiber rags just for the stainless elevator doors so we wouldn't scratch them.

-Stainless Steel has visual appeal and corrosion resistance and perhaps a slight advantage in “slickness” versus mild steel, but it is also prone to denting – any rocks you hit will leave “dings” and over the course of time, this will become unsightly and may affect the plow’s performance.
-Mild steel has been used to manufacture plows for decades. This workhorse proves durability, rigidity and excellent value.

Meaning....powder will scrape off, and will get gouged/scratched.
SS on plows won't b/c it's not a coating, it's the actual metal. Was what I was getting at.

You talking plow or in general?
I did my rear spring upper mounts....there fine.
Did many parts parts on both my bikes....other then wear from boots, they are both fine still

Oh I'll totally agree. Manufacturers don't prep right, and it's usually thinner then other should be.
