I just finished installing springs in a plow I painted and wanted to show how I did it.I put a 2x4 under each end of the plow so I could get the come-along under it and also see where the bolt was going through.I got my come-along out.I then got one of those quick chain links and attached it to the top of the spring.I took the cable end hook and hooked it to the link.I then took the other end of the come-along with the ratchet and attached it to the moldboard.I took a shop cloth and put it under the cable to keep it from damaging the plow.I ratcheted the come along until the spring was compressed enough I could get the bolt in place. Here are some pictures.

I'm trying to get as many people to post their way of installing the springs so that anyone with a fisher plow, in any situation, can get their springs installed.

I'd really like the mods to make it a Sticky.

The only issue I foresee is the cable marking up the new paint job.

    First off it's a plow.

Second off, that's why you always use touch up paint after re assembly.

    Third off, it's a plow.

I used an old t-shirt I didn't have it in place when I took the picture.I primed and painted behind the springs installed them. Then primed and painted the rest of the plow.I made the mistake on the last plow of painting the whole plow then installed the springs.Had to do touch ups on that one. With this one just put them in and painted it.
