All the plow company's sell these sizes as home owners or light duty. Does anyone make one that would hold up to abuse? Going on a lifted cherokee with a tied frame, air bags, hd steering.

Western LSX 7'2" with wings. Working fine plowing commercially.

Sorry but he said "will hold up to abuse". I don't think so.

It'll hold up to 30 driveways worth of abuse. It isn't as tough as a lot of other plows, but it'll hold up better than some people think.

I have had a meyer 6'6" poly plow on my blazer for better than 10 years now, and although it won't push a full bite of 6 inch snow and move it a few hundred feet, I think you might be surprised how well they hold up. The key is to remember they are lighter plows, so you can't ram into the piles at 20 mph, nor can you abuse the crap out of them. They are great for plowing drives, and smaller lots though.

Someone must be using one of these smaller plows on 30 plus driveways that has held up. I could step upto 7.5 but it would stick out past the jeep a lot.

x2 on the 6'9" Fisher. It's an older model maybe 03'-04' very well built. I've really worked the hell out of mine w/no problems

Like I said, I have a 7'2" LSX with wings and plow 21+ courts per snow with it. No complaints yet.

Do you abuse it though? He asked for one that will hold up to abuse. None will take repeated abuse or neglect without breaking. Heck mine breaks and I'm careful, I think. I dont know of any besides one off of a earthmover maybe.

I agree about the LSX I had one but traded it in when I got my trucks 2 years ago. It did take a beating so I will be looking for another one for next season. Or if I can find the fisher stated before.

  16. I 'beefed' up with total of 4 springs and an added shock (could use a better shock)
I moved the spring mount above the upper edge instead of thru it
after 10years and over a 1000 (long) driveways in the last 3 years, we rebuilt the plow by drilling out old
pivots and new (larger) pins and bolts

HOWEVER, there is no substitute for good maintenance and dont loan it to anyone!

I guess if you wanted to do 30 driveways while ramming into curbs, houses, parked cars, etc., you should look for something other than an LSX... I've had a lotta plows and the LSX is a light duty plow, but WILL hold up to 30 driveways without a problem, even with the occasional hard hit. Jeez.
