To answer your question, YES. Your salter is designed for DRY #1 rock salt.
If not you can expierence non-flowing salt.
I know this may sound funny, but vibrators are the #1 sellers this year.

From our feed back, more customers are dealing with moist salt as well as using
bulk salt in spreaders that are not designed for it. Installing one will definately
help the free flow of salt.

Salt/Sand Spreader Vibrator Kit for Hitchmount Spreaders 80 lbs

Is it treated product, is it wet, are you running salt sand through it?

I have run bagged, bulk and treated and have never had it bind up and I don't have a vib kit either!

I have and still run one #80 bag of salt and 4 5gallon buckets of bulk salt with little to no issues with flow problems. I put the bagged salt in first then the bulk over top of it.

I have notice my spreader will bridge more this year that years past and I have to stop hard or get out and shake it, all the product I have been using has had a little more moisture than what years past seem like. With that being said, how effective is a vibrator and are they just wired into a momentary switch? I also have a truck with a 600lb Boss and it seems to be a little better, may be salting on rougher ground though.
