Somebody might have posted this already, if so I apologize. But I know people on here have been trying to come up with ways to keep the winch motor dry out in the weather. I had an old motorcycle inner tube in the shop that caught my attention, a little scissors work, and it slipped over the winch like it was made for it (little tight, some WD40 or silicone spray would help slip it on and not hurt the sealing either). My winch is a 3500 lb 'no name' ATV winch, and the tube was off a Suzuki 650, so a smaller winch motor or larger tube might require a couple tie straps to snug it down. I left it long so that it overlaps the end cap by a couple inches, pretty confident now that it'll stay dry in a monsoon if necessary. I'm guessing a motorcycle shop that mounts tires wouldn't have a problem unloading an old tube, even if it cost a couple bucks it would be worth it, one tube will do about 10 winch motors I think ;)
