Has anyone thought of using some type of a solenoid to move the pin that holds the blade in position? Then you could use a snowbank to get the blade pivoting left (or right) and the spring on the pin I would think would snap it back into the hole again when it lines up.

Not sure if a door lock motor would do it, but maybe a door popper? Some of those are 70 to 80 pounds of force.

Call me lazy, but I hate getting out of the vehicle when I'm warm, and it's -35 out there!
