Pretty tough to ask almost double what you made in one year as an asking price for the company. Even though the equipment might be there you didn't give the condition of the equipment. At the most I think someone would even think of offering would be $200k.

    Just my opinion.

I kinda have to agree with grow it. Without equipment info we can't give you a true idea. The equipment you have listed could be all junk and worth next to nothing, almost brand new and worth more than your your asking price or anywhere in between. I can say that IMO, if I were to sell out I would be over 2x gross or there about because my heavy equipment is all low hour next to new condition. IMO you take a value of equipment and add from there, in my case we are a Corp so contracts are with the Corp not me personally, etc.

The equipment is only a part of the equation. Generally the asking price is based on the gross annual income x 150% Thats been the rule of thumb for every buiss. I've rolled over

Snow accounts are about 50/50. Commercial/residental. Yes, some are seasonal, both snow and lawn. not many.

I have never bought or sold a business but how can you base your price on gross income. Your willing to pay 1.5Xgross to a company with 100 employees or some massive amount of overhead. A company grossing 5 million and netting 500,000 will take you 15 years just to get your money back.

Maybe I'm missing something. I'll sell my company tomorrow for 1.5 times gross.

Out of the $185 gross, what was net profit? Gross means nothing.

I'm sure anyone even considering this would hire an accountant/lawyer to examine bussiness..Hire an appraiser for true value of equipment. This isn't guesswork! If I was netting 120k I think I would hire someone(50k) to run daily operations and I would sit back and do the light duty work- books, estimating ect.Just my 2 cents
