When adjusting the height of the Auger on a Snow Blower, what are the recommendations! Mine is a basic Craftsman with a metal auger. Right now the auger has been scraping the pavement while rotating which in turn causes the machine to move up and down. Also what height on the rear ice scraper bar? Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Keith

    snow blower etc.

You should have a pair of skid shoe's on both sides of the auger housng to set the height of the auger housing not the auger.

lower the shoe's until the auger clears the ground with out scuffing it an then decide if want to lower the scraper blade by that much or not.
