I am a one man show with only one account that wants salting and that is just sidewalks.

I use a product called Triple Melt (customer likes it because it doesn't stain their carpet) and I buy it for $15/50lb bag. I use about $10 worth of salt (my cost) per time.

Shoveling and salting the walks takes me about 35 minutes for average snow up to about 2" or so. I use a snow blower if there is more snow but usually blow at night since the customer is a funeral home.

What would you charge for shoveling and salting?

    Thank you,

    Joel B.

I would charge around $60-$70 for that. Personally I would hate being outside shoveling for over half an hour. Must be rough on those cold days.
  3. Like Fordman says, about $60-70-75 labor, plus 2 times salt cost.

How wide and how long are the walks?
Do you also plow or salt the parking area?
