First time poster. Bidding on a municipal sidewalk contract and they want me to price the salting by the hour. Never priced this way before. Always priced by how much salt used. Does anybody have an idea, or formula, as to how much salt a sidewalk would use per kilometer so I can come try to come up with an hourly figure ?

Most sidewalk de-ice products use sqft coverages here.

    1 Square Foot = 0.09290304 Square Meters
    1 Square Foot = 0.00000009290304 Square Kilometers
    27878400 Square Feet = 1 Square Mile
    1 Square Mile = 2.58998811 Square Kilometers

Hope this can help! You can use the recommended coverages on the bag but you must have an coverage your comfortable with. Conditions will change this also.
