I need the shock / dampener that goes on a Western 7.5 Uni-mount pro plow.
Call me "cheap" but I don't care to spend $108 for a shock absorber.
Where can I find one cheaper or a even a good substitute?
Could an automotive shock be used/ If not whats the diff?
    I've tried e-bay already...

Yeah, I've always wanted to find these myself. I know that Monroe makes the shocks for Western, but that's been the end of the line on my search. I rehab and resell Western plows and would love to be able to put new ones on every plow for my customers, but an additional $100+ adds up in the reconditioning process.

i bought one for a boss plow for $50 and welded the mount just above the one on the moldboard. if needed i could put the western back on in a pinch no problem. there's pics in one of my profile albums

I'm so glad I saw this although I wish I would have seen it sooner. That's a pretty big difference in price for the same thing.

Anybody come up with a part# on these? Would probably make life easier ordering from the dealer.
