... A WHITE CHRISTMAS LOOKS LIKE IT IS COMING A DAY LATE...

AN ACCUMULATING SNOW IS EXPECTED SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT. HOWEVER, AMOUNTS SHOULD NOT BE HEAVY AND SNOWFALL SHOULD ONLY BE A COUPLE OF INCHES, WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS TO THE NORTH AND EAST OF PHILADELPHIA.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO FORM WELL EAST OF THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST DURING THE DAY SUNDAY. THIS LOW WILL INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES NORTHEAST AWAY FROM THE REGION ON SUNDAY NIGHT.

SINCE THE LOW WILL BE SO FAR TO THE EAST, THE FORECAST AREA WILL BE IN THE NORTHWEST FRINGES OF THE SYSTEM. THIS MEANS ANY PRECIPITATION THAT FALLS WILL FALL AS SNOW, BUT IT ALSO MEANS THAT SNOWFALL AMOUNTS SHOULD ONLY AMOUNT TO A FEW INCHES.

LIGHT SNOW OR FLURRIES COULD DEVELOP SUNDAY MORNING, BUT SNOW IS MORE LIKELY SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO FLURRIES FOR MONDAY.

BY SUNDAY EVENING... AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW IS FORECAST TO FALL OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY WITH AN INCH OR LESS TO THE SOUTH AND WEST OF PHILADELPHIA. THE SNOW SHOULD CONTINUE SUNDAY NIGHT WITH ANOTHER INCH OR TWO POSSIBLE, MAINLY IN NEW JERSEY.

ANYONE PLANNING TRAVEL SUNDAY OR SUNDAY NIGHT SHOULD KEEP ABREAST OF THE LATEST FORECASTS. SOME THINGS THAT WE CAN DO NOW BEFORE IT SNOWS IS TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SNOW SHOVELS HANDY AND YOUR SNOW BLOWER IS WORKING. IN ADDITION, IF YOU NEED SALT, IT IS BETTER TO BUY IT NOW BEFORE IT SNOWS RATHER THAN AFTER.

Does this mean we could be plowing guys???
Probably will turn to rain or it will be a god damm blizard!

... SOME WINTRY PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE SUNDAY AND MONDAY...

LOW PRESSURE OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO... CURRENTLY BRINGING A WHITE CHRISTMAS TO BROWNSVILLE TEXAS OF ALL PLACES... WILL MOVE NORTHEAST TO A POSITION OFF THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST SUNDAY MORNING. AN EASTERLY FLOW DEVELOPING BETWEEN THE LOW AND STRONG HIGH PRESSURE OVER QUEBEC WILL BRING ATLANTIC MOISTURE INTO THE AREA LATE TONIGHT AND SUNDAY. TEMPERATURES SUNDAY MORNING WILL BE COLD ENOUGH FOR THE PRECIPITATION TO BEGIN AS LIGHT SNOW OR FREEZING DRIZZLE... WHICH COULD CAUSE ICY CONDITIONS ON AREA ROADWAYS. AS THE FLOW OFF THE OCEAN INCREASES... PRECIPITATION SHOULD CHANGE TO A MIX OF PLAIN RAIN AND SNOW IN NEW YORK CITY AND COASTAL SECTIONS BY MIDDAY SUNDAY.

PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW SUNDAY NIGHT AS THE INTENSIFYING OFFSHORE LOW DRAWS DOWN COLDER AIR FROM THE NORTH... AND SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING.

ANYONE PLANNING TO TRAVEL SUNDAY INTO MONDAY SHOULD KEEP ABREAST OF THE LATEST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECASTS....

Sunday is looking rather interesting for Connecticut as a complex weather system develops and could impact parts of New England. We'll start the day with limited sunshine, but skies will eventually become cloudy with an increasing chance for snow during the afternoon and evening hours. Right now it appears that the heaviest precipitation will stay to the east and northeast of Connecticut, however, the storm may drop 1-3 inches of snow across the western half of the state and 3-6 inches across the eastern half late Sunday into early Monday. We're going to continue to update the forecast as new information comes into the Early Warning Forecast Center, so stay with Channel 3 and the Early Warning Forecast Team for the very latest.

A vigorous storm system will be firing up off the mid-Atlantic coast Sunday and will head northward Sunday night. There will be a sharp boundary between where there will be heavy snow and little or nothing. Exactly where that boundary will be is the big question currently facing forecasters. Most likely, heavy snow will be restricted to the area from the Delmarva Peninsula through eastern Long Island and into Boston. However, should the storm move just 75 miles farther west than now expected, Philadelphia and New York City could get significant snowfall. Check back to AccuWeather.com for updates on this developing storm.

    Severe Weather Alert

Theirs a High pressure system in the NE that could influence the weather coming up from the south and pull in back inland.

Theirs a stronger system out west right now that might be a better chance for some real snow fall next week sometime, providing it stays could enough.

It's gotta snow sooner or later. Right?
