The MSS actually was a tailgate model. I would not try to hang on on a hitch. It had a small belt conveyor that fed from a small v-box front to rear. It spread mix like the Fisher / Western belt conveyor models. It is pretty heavy and can hold a good amount of material. We had one on a bracket that sat on the rear bumper, with the tailgate off and had ratchet straps to the bed hooks on top.

I had just looked on AirFlo's website http://www.air-flo.com/product.cfm?id=E24F19E3-9F07-C14A-8604863D8DE58135 and saw one with "Receiver Hitch Mount" so I had just figured it was that.

Yeah thats it. It must be back in prduction.

Now they are offering a hitchmount. Seem like a lot of weight to hang off a hitch to me. Lots of leveraging.

    "• Approximate Weight -
    Empty 238 lbs.
    Full (Salt) 538 lbs.
    Full (Sand) 863 lbs."
That is a lot of weigh for just a 2" receiver. My 1/2 Chevy specified tongue weight is 500 pounds.

The spreader attaches to brackets from the bed and brackets on the bumper.

I'm in the market for a bigger spreader. Got a stack of $100's with your name on it if its turn-key and go! I need something for my Toyota.
