Hey Guys I need your help

I have an older Fisher V Box spreader and it spreads salt great. The problem is that we are on a salt shortage here in Michigan and cant get any. The stuff that is out there is over $100.00 per yard. Can I spread sand mixed with calcium Chloride through the spreader. My spreader has flat bars on the track and has no lip?? Any feedback would be great

    Thanks
    Scott

A v-box with a conveyor belt should be able to spread anything, like gravel if you wanted to.

Absolutly, if it is dry you will have no problem. My fisher v box with flat bars has run just sand before for traction on a job site. just make sure its lubed good and you clean it well after it .
