Did any Canadian operators experience a salt shortage last year?

Absolutely, and be ready for another shortage this year too fellas. The stockpiles at the docks are down almost 40% they say. Its amazing how theres never no salt in February left at regular rates, but they can get you all the salt you want at double the price...Capitalist Ba$tardS!

We were on the edge of a shortage, came close a couple times, but our supplier that we buy off never actually went empty. Some places did dry up. And we even setup to use sand/salt mix, but it never came to that. It was the first time I have ever seen the backside of the storage bunker at our suppliers. He even had to use us up a backup pile he has never touched for like 3 years.

Not what I'm hearing or seeing at the docks here, Almost back to what it normally is, and I've even see the city storage units are mostly full now.

United Salt, mostly, Kenedy and Steeles roughly.

couple others places we pick up a couple tons now and then, just to keep an account with them, You always need to be able to have a couple sources, just incase.

I guess that's on the east side, never heard of them. At least you kept getting it, Canadain and Cargill cut me off but Iwas lucky to get a few 40 tonne loads out of Sifto. I also got a few loads out of Beaver Valley but the price was very high from them.
