I just got a new snow ex v6000 spreader, for the past three years I have been using the snow ex minipro 575 and 88lb bags of salt, last year i used 25 skids of salt, needless to say I would like to fined a more efficient way of both buying and loading the salt. I have the abbility for totes but have been told that they freeze up into a hard chunk, has anyone tried this and had any luck?

I tried an ice melt product in a tote last year. Lifted it up with the fork lift to load the tailgate spreader and dumped the whole thing on the ground. Came out so fast, that I had no chance to get the flow under control and shut it off. Went back to plastic bags on a pallet.
