Hay guys, im trying to make my own salt brine but dont have a refractometer so i cant measure the percentage of salt in my brine... I know i want to make it 23.3 % but dont know how much salt to put in... Does anyone have any guide lines to how much salt they generally mix in to make it the magic number.. thanks

If my math serves me right, you need 2.2 lbs to 1 gallon of water to make a 23% (ideal) solution.

Approximately 2.3 lbs/gal. I use a battery tester to test specific gravity. It was about $6.00
