I got my intake gaskets replaced, but when we pulled the distributor, the marking for the rotor got messes up, and now I dont know where the position of it should be. We got it where we thought, but its not starting, so its obviously not correct.

It should be pointed at number 1 cylinder when the engine is at top dead center if I remember correctly.
I just read you other water pump thread....is the truck running or not???
You make helping you a real PITA sometimes. :dizzy:

Replacing the gaskets was hard enough for me, how do I get the engine at top center?

There are several ways. A compression guage and a dial indicator work best but if you have a manual it will explain the steps too.
You can crank it with the starter or you can use a socket on the crankshaft pulley.
