What you get in Montana is going to be different than say here in New Jersey. No seasonal here. Minimum drive is say 40.00. How many events u get per month, and per year?

A medium size driveway must be about as long as a piece of rope.

    Look around

    Search threads

Read, read, read read read read..

The subject has been discussed zillions of times, and only you can know your costs of doing business, and how your market will react to your pricing structure.

are you new to plowing in general ?

Have you worked for anyone else before ?

What did he charge, assuming he's in your market, and now you've become his competitor ?

    BTW,

Our examples for you are worthless, as our costs vary significantly. You need to read the previous threads on this subject and make an educated guess, based upon your business costs / market environment, and what you will be "allowed" to charge. I can't charge what I want to charge, but what I can actually manage to convince people into paying me for my services. You need to do the same

I highly disagree with this statement.

    Just get your pencil out.
what is your INS costing for the year?
    cost of running your truck?
    cost of your equipment.
    fuel.
    cost of salt.
and how much an hr does the operator make.
    how much for repairs,

avg snow fall, avg number of events.

As the others what it costs me to do business it my costs,
you may need to make more or less than I to make a profit.

now your getting on the playing field.

is your monthly unlimited with salt and sidewalks?,or a set number of times and you dont get out of the truck?

as above some will do drives for $40, while others well do it for $25 to $50.

were not trying to he as-ses, but if you do what is suggested you can tell us what you charge.

ps have your friends or parents call the other snow Co's and get some quotes......;) then compare your #'s to theirs and see if you can be profitable.

It's good to disagree. Thumbs Up

Tell the OP to come to NJ, move a few miles away, and then I'll give him some info on how much I charge to do a driveway. At least then, we're both on the same playing field.

    I got the perfect plan.

Go on craigslist, and place ads telling everyone that you will "BEAT ANY PRICE".

This way, you will always win the bid !!!

what a great idea ! Maybe I'll even throw in a "free sealcoating" of the driveway, just to get the job !!!

    Woo Hoo !!:dizzy:

10 bucks and a slice of pie.

MJD, when are you going to ban pricing questions?

How long and wide is the driveway?
" findlotsize.com " gives you a average price for your area. It's usually high though
